"Bloody Mary's Face" Submitted By Alexa

(Strangest Happening Of The Month Contest Winner - June 2004)

May 24, 2004

Hello,

I have been experiencing odd happenings lately and really need some advice or anything about it. I have tried mentioning it to a few people, but they think that it is all made up.

I'm not sure whether this is a haunting or if I am going insane, but please contact me back.

For the past few months I have had a reaccuring "dream." The reason I put dream in "" is that as far as I know, I have been awake. The first 3 times, it took place in my room. Everything was exactly as it should be from the mess in it to the amount of light. I am always trying to get to sleep. I notice something out of the corner of my eye in the mirror. When I look the other direction, there is nothing there. Finally the thing in the mirror comes close enough that I can see what it is. It is a woman in her twenties. She has dark almost black curly hair that is longer than shoulder length. She has pasty white skin, nearly black eyes, and slighty pointed teeth. She is wearing a burial dress. In the "dream" she flies out of the mirror and onto my bed where she precedes to stab me to death. She looks so happy about it too. I always stay in the dream until I am dead, staring at my body. As soon as I "wake up" I am even lying in the same place as when I died. This dream has also taking place where the poltergiest comes out of the closet, the window, and the bathroom mirror. These variations only started taking place once I moved the mirror out of my room. Also, I lit a match the last night I had a dream like that, and the fire flew over my hand and burnt my nails until they were black and crumbling within a second.

Thank you so much for any help!

Hello,
My appologies for taking so long to get back with you, but I have been out of state, performing for the past week. Thank you for sharing your story, it is very intriguing indeed. As with any suspected haunting, it is very hard to make a fair judgement without actually investigating the location, but I will do my best to help you. The first thing I will need to do is ask you a few questions so that I can get a little more insight as to what may be causing this. For simplicities sake I will list a few questions below. If you could do your best to answer them, it would help a great deal.

* How long have you lived in the house?

* How long did you live in the house before these things started happening?

* How old is the house?

* Was the mirror already in the house when you moved there, did you bring it with you when you moved into the house or did you buy it after you moved into the house?

* Is the mirror an antique?

* Has anyone ever died in the house or on the property that you know of?

* When you have these "dreams", do you find that you are unable to talk, yell, scream or move, but yet you are fully aware of everything that is going on? Kind of like you are paralyzed?

* Do you feel that you are undoubtedly wide awake when all of these things happen?

* Are you or anyone else in the house currently on any sort of medication for a mental illness or have a mental illness?

* Has there ever been any sort of excessive drug or alchohol use in the house?

* Has there ever been any sort of occult activity in the house, such as Ouija Board use?

* Can you think of any other strange activities that happened in the house prior to seeing the person in the mirror? (Strange noises, footsteps, laughing, giggling, lights or electrical appliances turning on and off by themselves, items being moved unexplainably, etc)

If you can answer these few questions, it will give us a good start in trying to help you figure out what may be going on. I have a few ideas, but i'd like to make sure before I jump to conclusions or cause you to do the same. The first thing you must realize is that 99% of spirits are not malevolent and are not out to cause you any harm. Most of the time they just simply want to make their presence known. If it is a haunting, the most important thing is to not show any sort of emotion to it, mainly fear or anger.

Thanks again for sharing your story and I look forward to hearing back from you soon. Also, feel free to visit our ghost forums and post as often as you'd like. Here is the direct link: S.H.G.H.R.S Ghost Forums

Have a great day!

Sincerely,
Aedryan Methyus

Hello,
I have answered all of the questions you asked below. Anything else you would like to know just ask. I had the same type of "dream" again last night. My room was rearranged and thats how it appeared in the dream. It looked exactly the same. Is there any reason why every time I see the ghost it tries (usually succeeding) to kill me or just watches me? It doesn't do anything else.

* How long have you lived in the house? I've lived in the house for a little over two years.

* How long did you live in the house before these things started happening? They started a few months after we moved in.

* How old is the house? The house is from around 1910. It was owned by a doctor who worked at Mayo Hospital when it first started.

* Was the mirror already in the house when you moved there, did you bring it with you when you moved into the house or did you buy it after you moved into the house? We always had the mirror.

* Is the mirror an antique? I actually don't know if it is or isn't.

* Has anyone ever died in the house or on the property that you know of? I don't know about there being any deaths, but there are two huge cement boxes in the basement in a little room with a glass door and a light. Thats all thats in the room. No idea whats in them. I'm pretty sure thats irrelevant though.

* When you have these "dreams", do you find that you are unable to talk, yell, scream or move, but yet you are fully aware of everything that is going on? Kind of like you are paralyzed? I always feel like I want to run, but I can't. Thats why I always end up dying like that. I am just stuck staring.

* Do you feel that you are undoubtedly wide awake when all of these things happen? Yes.

* Are you or anyone else in the house currently on any sort of medication for a mental illness or have a mental illness? My mom is on anti-depressants but thats it.

* Has there ever been any sort of excessive drug or alcohol use in the house? No

* Has there ever been any sort of occult activity in the house, such as Ouija Board use? We never used a Ouija board but I was at a friends house when she stupidly tried to have a séance. That was after the dreams started though. During the séance I saw her, the ghosts, outline. I made her stop having it at that point.

* Can you think of any other strange activities that happened in the house prior to seeing the person in the mirror? (Strange noises, footsteps, laughing, giggling, lights or electrical appliances turning on and off by themselves, items being moved unexplainably, etc)
Sometimes when the fan in the living room is on, it will suddenly turn off, the lights will turn on, and then the fan will go in reverse.

Also, last friday the television would randomly turn static and change the channels. It has happened on a few other occasions as well.

My closet door also randomly opens even when the windows are closed, my bedroom door is closed, its not windy, and the fan isn't on.

Those are the only strange activities that are happening in the house that I can think of at the moment, other than the strange feeling of being watched sometimes.

Thank you so much for all of your help,

Alexa
